Today is our 6 month-iversary! I can't believe Eric and I have been married for 6 months already. The time has flown. Man, life couldn't be better! We are so happy and we are better friends than ever. Living with my best friend and sharing my life with him is the greatest thing in the world! I love spending time with Eric, going on dates with him, staying up late talking, cooking together, saving together, and living together as self-proclaimed "poor people". Granted, it's not always easy; we've had misunderstandings and hurt feelings on occasion, but I'm so grateful to have a best friend that is so easy to talk to and to work side by side with. We've always been able to stop and talk about things and make things right with each other before it ever escalates into a fight. That's because Eric is the best. I know the Lord helps us immensely, but I think between the two of us it's like 90% Eric's awesomeness and 10% my attempt at awesomeness that makes up this unbeatable team. I have the most incredible husband in the world.
I decided today's picture would be my Irish Claddagh ring. I've had it for years and years, and I really love the symbolism and the heritage because I'm part Irish. The heart symbolizes love, the hands mean friendship, and the crown stands for loyalty. The heart is worn facing inward on your finger if your heart is taken. (You might have noticed, my heart happens to be taken. Haha) I didn't turn the ring around until Eric and I were married, and I'll never turn it out again. Eric has my heart today and always. 6 months going on eternity with my bestest bud!!!
I once saw that ring on Sister Wives with the exact explanation--they had a tradition of giving their new sister wife that ring to welcome them into the family and symbolize their sisterly-commitment to each other. Just thought it was funny this is the second time I've seen that ring. Had to share.
